2022 Hope House 5K & Fun Run

Hope House has three major fundraising events throughout each year, with the most community-oriented of those events being the 5K & Fun Run. In 2022, it came to the attention of the Communications team that the logo had not been updated since the event’s conception in 2013. I was asked to rebrand the logo and the event as a whole to make it more in-line with other 5K’s, as well as for social media advertising usage.
Previous Logo
At the start of 2022, I was asked to take a look at the then-current 5K logo and rebrand it for future usage. The logo that was used from 2013 until then (pictured left) was created out of necessity and hadn’t been updated since its creation. I asked people throughout the organization what they liked or disliked about this logo to get a better sense of what what direction I should go with the rebrand. Overall, the consensus was that the logo felt too generic while simultaneously feeling out of line with other non-profit’s race logos. People expressed their desire for a more compact logo that also gave a sense of location and belonging to Arvada and Colorado as a whole.

New Logo
The final logo was a result of four rounds of feedback, all iterating on the idea of a compact logo that represented Arvada and Colorado while still maintaining the Hope House brand colors and fonts.
